Download the Silvercar app, enter some basic personal and payment information, then specify the date and location for your rental. When you arrive at one of the eight Silvercar locations (don’t worry, they are expanding), you simply walk through an elegant kiosk straight to a row of waiting Audi A4s. Did I mention they have cold bottled water for you? Walk up to any of the Audi A4s, open the app and scan the QRC sticker on the windshield. Then, boom! The car is unlocked and you are on your way. At the end of your trip, bring it back to the same Silvercar location and walk away. Moments, later you receipt is emailed to you. Not only is the process simple, it is very fast. Which, for many travelers, is worth the slightly higher rental cost. For gentleman motorists, just knowing that you are getting an immaculate Audi A4 every time is worth it.
Simply put, Silvercar allows you to leave the hoi polloi standing in line playing the “please let me get an upgrade” lottery at the rental car center. By the time they check out, your Audi A4’s navigation system will be guiding you to your destination while Enya’s “Sail Away” plays in the background. Woops. Someone must have left a CD in the car. Thank goodness I brought my iPod. Washed Out’s “Feel It All Around” is a much better choice. Silvercar, are you opening a location in Portland anytime soon?

[1] How late? Crazy late. Like you can drive a 2015 A4 now. The future is here, McFly. Seriously. Did you know there are now working prototypes for hoverboards and automatic lacing Nikes? Mind blown.
[2] After flying coach, the Audi A4 honestly feels like a Rolls Royce Phantom. And you don’t have to worry about someone puking on you while in transit. If that’s not the case, you should take greater care in choosing your travel companions.
